OPO Doubler/Mixer (BBO-UV)
-- widest tuning range 189nm to 450nm, no gap!

In response to the demand of applications where intense UV radiation is required over a long wavelength region, We now offer an OPO Doubler/Mixer -- BBO-UV system.

BBO-UV system is designed to generate the widest possible UV range with the output from an OPO or other tunable sources. The superior UV phase matching and transmission properties of BBO has made it the best choice for UV generation. BBO-UV could be configured as an OPO Doubler (BSHG-UV) and an OPO Mixer (BMIX-UV). BSHG-UV could cover 205nm to 450nm with 3 pieces of BBO crystal; BMIX-UV could cover 189nm to 227nm with 2 pieces of BBO crystals. All BBO crystals used in BBO-UV system are based on CASIX's super quality BBO (S-BBOTM), which has the least amount of inclusion, highest UV transmission and all come with CASIX's proprietary protective coating P-coating).

BSHG-UV

The BSHG-UV system uses two counter rotating BBO crystals to cover the entire UV range. In this orientation, one crystal compensates while the other doubles. Once out of range, the computer controlled acuators could automatically changes the crystals angles so that the first crystal doubles while the second now compensates. A fixed four pieces Pellin-Brocca prism set or a rotating single piece Pellin-Brocca prism assembly separates the UV from fundamental while scanning without any beam wandering or displacement.

The BSHG-UV system's computer control function (optional) allows for automatic tuning and scanning without the need to change filters, optics, or crystals.

Designed for:

Modular Structures:

For flexibility, BSHG-UV is offered in modular structures:

Specifications

Tuning range: 3 BBO crystals double 410nm ~ 900nm, generate UV 205nm ~ 450nm. Short-UV(205nm to 225nm), Medium-UV(220nm to 290nm) and Long-UV (280nm to 450nm).

Doubling Efficiency: Depends on the beam quality and intensity of the input beam. Tight focusing with lens is not recommended by us to increase intensity. Please check our C-Doubler for doubling weak (<50MW/cm2), and highly diverging(>1.5mrad) beams.

Input Polarization: Vertical (default) or Horizontal (polarization rotation prism pair required)

Output Polarization: Horizontal, 100:1 (For >105:1, use CASIX a-BBO UV polarizer).

Input Beam diameter: 6mm or less (nominal), larger aperture is possible as an option.

All specifications are subject to change without notice.

Dimensions: (all dimensions are in inches, unless otherwise specified)

BMIX-UV

The BMIX-UV system uses two BBO crystals. First, it doubles the input from an OPO/Dye laser to generate UV from 230nm to 270nm, and then mix the UV with the 1064nm from a Nd:YAG laser to generate UV from 189nm to 227nm. The BMIX-UV is the best choice for narrow bandwidth OPOs from Spectra-Physics and Continuum, where the directly doubled UV only covers >220nm.
