KDP Isomorphic Crystals

KDP and its isomorphic single crystals, especially KD*P, are widely used for electro-optic applications as Q-switches and Pockels cells. The optical and nonlinear optical properties of these crystals are listed on Page 30 of this catalog. The following Table lists their main electro-optic properties.

Crystal KDP KD*P ADP
Electro-Optic Coefficient (pm/V) g63 = 10.5 g63 = 26.4 g41 (T) = 24.5
Longitudinal Half-Wave Voltage Vp (l=0.546mm) 7.65kV 2.98kV 9kV

The most commonly used electro-optic crystal in KDP isomorphy is KD*P with deturation greater than 98%. These electro-optic devices are widely used as Q-Switches for Nd:YAG, Nd:YLF, Ti:Sapphire and Alexandrite lasers.

CASIX provides high quality KDP, KD*P and ADP crystals in rods, squares or other shapes according to customers' requirements. The standard size can be 8x8x25 mm3 to 14x14x30 mm3. The largest size could be as large as 100x100x30 mm3. We supply as-cut (unpolished) and polished crystals. The sealed housing with AR-coated windows is available upon request. Q-Switches made of KD*P crystals are also provided.
